This is a seven-part symposium that discussed how six Bible characters sowed and reaped peace and each presenter then provided pastoral advice on how their listening audience can do the same in these modern times. This is summarized in the table below.

In the concluding part of this symposium (“Modern-Day Examples”), Stephen Lett, a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses provides the following pieces of advice to his audience:
We can never correct the corruption and injustice of this world by means of political efforts or social movements….the solution is God’s Kingdom.
Something critical is withheld from the above statement. Jehovah’s Witnesses also believe that “God’s Kingdom” would overthrow and eliminate all forms of present-day governments and also will murder all persons who are either non-Jehovah’s Witnesses or who are not actively associating with them. Those surviving this mass genocide will form a new human society under the governance of “God’s Kingdom”.
We must promote peace with all people, which definitely means we refuse to get involved in any way in the wars of Satan’s world. A mother once asked a young Witness, “My son died for you to have the freedom you have. Why won’t you fight for your country?” Well, very calmly, the young brother said: “I’m very sorry about the loss of your dear son. “But one thing I can guarantee you is that it was not one of Jehovah’s Witnesses who killed your son. Now, I don’t know if you can make that guarantee about your religion, but I can make that guarantee.”
The young Witness really never answered the question “Why won’t you fight for your country?” His encounter was most likely made up for this concluding part and never happened; but also shows that Jehovah’s Witnesses are trained on how not to answer a question and on how to use their religion as a diversion and distraction when responding to controversial questions.
The only decent thing that the young Witness did was expressed sympathies for the mother’s loss; however sympathies is not what she wanted. In her mind, her son died a hero for the freedom of everyone, including Jehovah’s Witnesses who are not willing to reciprocate the same in return. This attitude is exactly what is portrayed in Anthony B’s song “Raid the Barn”:
Nobody wannu [want to] plant the corn
Everybody want to raid the barn…..
Dem [they] never realise with a little cooperation
Wi coulda [We could have] unify relieve the frustration
Instead dem [they] want to ride upon dem bredda[their brother’s] back
No tears or cares if him even did stop or drop…..
Jehovah’s Witnesses have this toxic mentality of “give me, give me, give me, give me; take, take, take, take” and never contribute anything back in return to the freedoms that we enjoy today.
Be willing to suffer loss rather than disturb the peace in the congregation. And just another thought on this: Let’s always remember that defending Jehovah’s name and reputation is far more important than trying to defend our own name and reputation. Be willing to suffer loss rather than disturb the peace in the congregation….“leave any unresolved issues with Jehovah, knowing that he sees what we do and what others do, and he will carry out justice at the right time.”
In other words, Jehovah’s Witnesses are advised by Stephen Lett that to pursue peace, his audience must be able to “leave it in Jehovah’s hands” (The Watchtower, August 2021, Are You Willing to Wait on Jehovah?); to look the other way, turn a blind eye, be a door mat, deliberately ignore wrongdoing by others; bury your head in the sand; don’t worry about pursuing justice – justice will only come by Jehovah in his due time. This foolish advice applies across the board without exemption, including serious matters such as criminal offenses and allegations.
The above pastoral advice given by Stephen Lett has successfully since 1950 (Report of Case Study No. 29, page 58, Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse):
This is the final part of the last symposium of the 2022 Convention.
Attendance is highest on this day out of all the previous days. This can be attributed to the presence of a high number of non-Jehovah’s Witnesses including delinquent adult children of Jehovah’s Witnesses; inactive Jehovah’s Witnesses; and family members and relatives who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Stephen Lett wastes no time in getting into the recruitment pitch and provides the following advice to his listeners who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses:
We’d like to say to you dear interested ones in attendance, if you’re not yet one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, we warmly invite you to please study the Bible with us. See for yourself how genuine love is the best way of life and is the best way to deal with the problems that divide society today. Jesus made it crystal clear that the identifying mark of true Christians is love.
I can say so many things about this sales pitch statement above except that Jehovah’s Witnesses are nothing less than a uniting, loving religion. They have systemically abused used their freedom of religion by mandating shunning and ostracism, to destroy friendships, to divide families and destroy the basic building block of any society – the family unit. Turning a blind eye to criminal wrongdoing in their religious community can never be an identifying mark of true Christians.
One can simply look at the events unfolding in Norway and ask:
For those readers who are not familiar with a public talk or public lecture, it is what the name says – a lecture for the general public. The targeted audience are both Jehovah’s Witnesses and non-Jehovah’s Witnesses. The public talk is a feature of every one-day assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses and on the Sunday of every Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is also part of the weekend religious meetings of each congregation of of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The objective of most public talks are to convince the audience that the solution to the various problems and challenges can be solved applying the biblical advice given and by God’s Kingdom overthrowing present governments. Another objective of the public lecture, especially those given at the one-day assembly and the Sunday of a convention, is to reinforce in the minds of Jehovah’s Witnesses what is expected of them as “true Christians”; but also as a recruitment pitch to non-Jehovah’s Witnesses in the audience. This year’s convention public discourse is by no means different.
Kenneth Cook, a member of the Governing Body describes, in the public talk of this convention, how current Jehovah’s Witnesses can maintain their “friendship with God”; as well as how non-Witnesses can have a “friendship with God” and become God’s friend:
So that you too can enjoy a bright future as God’s friends, we warmly invite you to accept a free interactive Bible course offered by Jehovah’s Witnesses using the publication Enjoy life Forever!….
……Likewise, associating with those who also want to be God’s friend is the right environment for us….
….Jehovah promises that his friends will receive eternal life in peace. If that is what you yearn for, then please accept our invitation to study the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. By doing so, you will learn about an unending future when anguish of heart is gone forever, an unending future in which God will permanently wipe away tears from the faces of his friends. That future is not only possible, it is the future that God promises!
This is the typical sales pitch used at the public talk of every convention!! What Kenneth Cook is not saying is that a person can only be God’s friend if they accept a “free Bible course”; drop all your existing friends and support network (“bad associates”); make new friends only with Jehovah’s Witnesses; and subsequently join his religion by water baptism. If you do not accept a “free Bible course” or continue to be a non-Witness, friendship with God is not possible, you will not “receive eternal life in peace” and “God will not wipe away tears from the faces of those who are not his friends.”
This is the final talk of the 2022 Convention given by Geoffrey Jackson, a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It includes a brief review of the previous five convention sessions and then considers the following questions:
This is the Governing Body’s last chance to sell to their listening audience, their religious belief that without joining their religion or remaining in it, one cannot enjoy peace. It is Governing Body’s last chance at this Convention to coerce and manipulate members into remaining in their religion as well as to put the “fear of God” into non-non-Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Remember that the number of non-Jehovah’s Witnesses is highest on the Sunday of each Convention. The points of this talk will be remembered the most.
The answers to each of those four questions above are an extension of the recruitment pitch of Stephen’s Lett’s part on the Sunday morning symposium and the Public Talk, respectively:
To gain access to the blessings mankind will enjoy after peace is restored, persons should have previously proved faithful to Jehovah and to the religious beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses; and should have been obedient to “Jehovah and Jesus” and the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. If anyone does not meet these requirements, one will not benefit from “universal peace”.
