On April 2nd, 2024 another arrest within the PA investigation on Jehovah’s Witnesses was made of Ronald Mangone, age 69, in Westmoreland. He was charged with 3 felony charges and 5 misdemeanor charges for sexually assaulting a minor.

“The abuse allegedly happened to a 6-year-old girl from 1991 to 1994. A second girl was also allegedly abused by Mangone in the late 80’s, though they were unable to charge him because the statute of limitations had expired.” -Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

There are no indications that the elders in the New Kensington Jehovah’s Witness Congregation notified law enforcement of these crimes at any point. Mangone was also associated with the West End French Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Mark O’ Donnell, an advocate for victims of  sexual abuse was interviewed for the Gazette article.

Sources close to the investigation have indicated that Mangone may have been an elder during the abuse. This now makes the 15th suspect arrested in the PA Grandy Jury Investigation that has been made known to the public.

According to public court records his next Preliminary hearing is on April 18th, 2024. Followed by another on May 30th, 2024.
