Jehovah's Witness on Triple Murder Charge

Milbank, South Dakota, U.S.A – Jehovah’s Witness member Brent Hanson has been charged with 3 counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his brother, Clyde Hanson and sister-in-law, Jessica Hanson, who was 8 months pregnant. The victims were also Jehovah’s Witnesses.

According to a YouTube video posted on December 16, 2021 by the perpetrator’s niece Vanessa Hanson, Brent was previously issued an arrest warrant for domestic violence against his sister-in-law, Jessica Hanson. Brent Hanson was a former Bethelite who was removed from Bethel and sent to a local congregation in the 1980s due to his deviant sexual behavior.

The incident leading to their homicide occurred earlier this week on December 15, 2021. Clyde and Jessica leaves behind their 2 year old son.

Allegations of child molestation and rape

There are allegations that following Brent’s re-assignment to a local congregation, he severely molested his niece, Vanessa Hanson. Her parents never made a police report and she was told to “leave things in Jehovah’s hands”. There is no evidence to suggest that any police report was made by the local elders and those who knew at their Headquarters in New York. Later on when Vanessa attempted to make a police report and asked her uncle Clyde to submit a witness statement, he outrightly refused.

The perpetrator’s niece has also suffered severely from shunning (social abandonment, isolation and rejection) by the members of her family who are Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Vanessa describes her father as a sinister, cold-hearted, unloving monster who chose his perverted brother over standing up for his own daughter. Who is going to foot that US$5.0m cash only bond? Vanessa’s father who told her “I’ll give you a piece of cardboard for a homeless sign and go be homeless”? Watchtower? The Governing Body?

Watchtower and the Governing Body certainly has moral and community responsibility in the murder of the Hansons.
